The Nara Visitor Center and Inn is situated in the heart of Nara, just a 3-minute walk from Kofuku-ji Temple and Naramachi. This place is amazing. The staff really put in so much effort to be helpful and answer any questions. There is a common area downstairs near check-in where they will have calligraphy and origami going on for free. The staff, and Jay in particular spent lots of time just hanging out with us, talking, and helping us work through the origami. They will write your name in Kanji for free, and it looks really nice. The rooms are large and clean, and many of them have views towards the pagoda. The location is super close to the park and all of the main attraction within it. There are lots of great food options nearby including cafes and breakfast spots. This place is an absolute gem, especially with how reasonable the pricing is for the rooms here and everything you get that comes with it. We overall had a much more memorable experience in Nara than we were expecting and it was in large part due to stay at this Inn and Visitor Center. Stay here if you can!

I had expected the place to be a hotel and only realised after arriving that it was a traditional Japanese inn. The hosts were fantastic. Communication was with translation by iPhone but everything was clear. The inn is traditional so be prepared for the futon bed and the shared bathroom and washing facilities. But it's also small so we did not need to queue or wait. We were also provided with traditional dress which we wore to the craft beer bar close by. The hosts were wonderful. Everything from arranging a taxi to advice on what we needed for the hot spring bath in the village. The breakfast and dinner (it's an inn so both are included even though breakfast is mentioned only) were amazing. It was at a level I would expect in an expensive restaurant here but felt like you were in a home and not a hotel. The area is great for hiking and the village is just super nice. Great ice-cream place nearby also. All in all it was the best weekend break I have ever had and I have loads of memories - my advice is to go there and just immerse yourself without expectations. Again the hosts were amazing

We absolutely loved the stay.

Located a five minute walk from ‘Nara Park’ and the main shopping/dining streets, Hotel Asyl Nara is conveniently central. Helpful and friendly staff, nice Onsen and delicious breakfast - all for a very good price! Room was spacious and quiet. A lovely, little shop with local gifts in the lobby. Added bonus was the Saturday night, Golden Week free bar. Family oriented and cozy atmosphere.

very kind staff. I have lived in many cities in the Kansai region, and they are very kind and helpful. English is always available there so no worries. The hotel is located at the heart of the Nara city, especially the Nara park, Nara machi, and Sarusawa-ike Pond. I can easily walk to each tourism attraction without using any buses or trains. If I have the chance to visit Nara again, I will definitely choose it again. Although some tourists may not spend a night in Nara, but I highly recommend you to spend a night here. The hotel quatily is definitely better than other cities in the Kansai region, given that you spent the same amount of money.

Good location (if you have car), they have free parking, the rooms are really space and comfortable. The lake view was very nice, we really enjoyed. There is a veranda, very nice to have a breakfast watching the view. I really liked the sound system in the room, it has many channels with good music :) The bathtub with jacuzzi was amazing, there is a tv in front of the bathtub, for the price was amazing! staffs are friendly, but unfortunately they don’t have a vegan breakfast, besides that, we were very satisfied!

Breakfast was including in our meal the food was amazing, had most things and so fresh! We loved all the facilities onsens, indoor pools and communal facilities. Would recommend it to anyone with children/families wanting to stay somewhere with pools and onsens. The staff at the facility were great and hopeful when ever we had any enquires.

The staff at Hotel Nosegawa was amazing. I casually asked if there was anywhere I could get oatmeal and soy milk and the next day when I came down, they had gone all the way into Koyasan and got me oatmeal and soy milk. Wow, I was shocked, that was above and beyond and totally unexpected. Such a generous group. The public bath was clean and enjoyable. In addition, the free shuttle to Koyasan was super convenient. We really loved our stay and would highly recommend it.
