Everything was great. I'd absolutely stay here again and again. The staff was not fluent in English but they were very helpful and used a translating app to speak to us. The room was clean, breakfast was great, the sauna and hot springs (2 large bath tubs) were amazing as well. 5 Stars.

The hotel is small but new and perfectly clean! The location is perfect to visit Takayama and for the train station. The Hid’s cafè proposes international food, and the breakfast was very nice even if with limited choice. I recommend it!

Featuring a bar, Mercure Hida Takayama is set in the centre of Takayama, 200 metres from Takayama Station. This hotel ticks all the boxes - easily 10/10. A short walk to the main station and a very central location. We were able to fortunately check in 1h early after a long and early journey without additional surcharge, unlike what is common with other hotels now. The yukata provided in room were very luxurious and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. The room was spacious by Japanese standards. I will keep an eye out for this chain hotel’s other locations in the future.
