Contemporary meets country in this grade two listed building. Upon entering the hall you are greeted with a galleried landing overlooked by a Victorian stained glass roof panel. Rooms are spacious and our standard room had the benefit of balcony overlooking the terrace and lake, our bathroom had the benefit of a walk-in shower. Service is first class and food is delicious.

Beautiful hidden gem of a hotel.
Location is amazing for the views, overlooking lake Windermere and gazing out surrounded by the mountains.
Service is excellent, rooms are luxurious.
Breakfast is unbelievable, evening meal was lovely as well, have to book in advance.
Pool was included and sauna.

Second time here, staff are very friendly and they work so hard getting very think spot on for you. Nothing is ever too much for them. Absolutely beautiful place to relax and unwind, The bedroom was amazing from the spa bath to the sauna was amazing touch. Thank you 😊

Love Windermere & have travelled to the area countless times for holidays & mini breaks, great location for exploring all that the Lake District offers. Would recommend staying in Windermere because it’s a great base & has every amenity necessary for a good holiday. Windermere was beautiful. We didn't realise before coming that down by the lake is classed as Bowness, which is much busier and touristy. So staying in Windermere really suited us as we could get down to the Lake easily enough, but liked being in a quieter location with some lovely independent places to eat.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

There is so so much to do from pottering around the gorgeous villages to swimming, kayaking, hiking & Alpaca walks! Ideally located and handy as a base for exploring. Traffic always snarls up towards Ambleside, so be patient it does clear. Get up early and get out there of you want to get somewhere The cafe at Brantford does amazing brunch and for those Beatrix fans, Hill Top is great. The countryside is absolutely stunning.
The countryside is absolutely stunning. Luckily for us the weather was beautiful just the right temperature for us and the sun was shining. We picked a good time of year as in the summer I would imagine it would be extremely busy. It's like every other old town narrow streets needing a bit of navigating. We visited the Beatrix Potter Museum which was great. We drove to Ravenglass and went on a steam train. Plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants in both Windermere and Bowness.LynwenAustralia

But the real luxury is the way the host has anticipated your every need and ensured you do not lack for anything, from minor details like salt and cooking oil and coffee pods in the kitchen to major things. His guide to Windermere and the lake District is a treasure and by itself is worth making the booking for. This is the intelligent person's place of stay in the lake district!
