Great location for Bonpow activities, top notched ski in ski out facilities, best ski school and rental services ( especially Sportpia Furano & Furano Snow School )with English speaking instructors and very helpful staff like Ariji san who patiently advised me on which snowboard attire and equipments to pick and rent and help me to pack them nicely in a very nice bag, store them while I went for Ramen nearby, and very thoughtfully advised me on ski techicalities, safety precautions and gears for snowboarding. Breakfast spread is simply amazing. The orange is cut at a specific way to enhance consumption pleasure. Good choices of restaurants, eateries and coffee ateliars nearby. ( Sugiyama Coffee is a dream, very reluctant to share but its so good it beats my conscience not to ). Reception at Lobby is always ready to help out and cater for all my requests including helping to book very reliable taxi to onsen at the tip of the mountain one and a half hour away. Feeling very blessed, grateful and pampered to be able to stay at such a wonderful place.

loved the small public onsen at the hotel, welcome drinks were also available. room was relatively spacious. it was slightly further away from the JR station but not an issue if you drive

The hotel was extremely beautiful and the hosts were superb.
The hotel was extremely beautiful and the hosts were superb. All of the tourist spots in the photos were easily accessible from the hotel and absolutely worthwhile. They included Tomita Farm, a nearby waterfall near Biei, Blue Pond near Biei, the park opposite the hotel Air Furano and the Furano shrine. Highly recommend.

Furnano town itself is dead in April.
Furnano town itself is dead in April. The only reason to go there are the cheese factory and wine factory. But distances between both are great. Unfortunately, the wine factory was closed at the time we went to Furano (mid-April). The cheese factory experience was great. After which we called a cab (local charges) to Ningle Terrace. This artist village is barely functioning in April -- very few shops were open. But there was one owned by a retired architect that made spinners that come back to you (cool).
Gitst: Spring is not the time to visit Furano. All the other seasons would be great. Example: flowers and fruit in the summer season.

Big mountain by Japanese standards with lots of varied terrain. Suitable for intermediates and advanced skiers, a little less so for real beginners. Not overly westernised so still has a Japanese feel. Generally very good snow.

Winter wonderland with amazing views.
Winter wonderland with amazing views. Powder snow everywhere, perfect for snowball fights and snowmen making. Local business owners are lovely to talk to. It’s a quiet place and life takes a more relaxed pace here. Stop by at Fukuzushi/ Fuku Sushi for the biggest nigiri you have ever laid your eyes on. The sushi chefs of Fuku sushi have been making sushi in Furano for at least 40 years. Say hi to chef Ohno, he’s a lovely guy and very friendly. Our hotel La Vista Furano was a destination in and of itself. Skiing at New Furano Prince Hotel’s Furano zone for the first time treated us to some of the best winter views and the best powder snow. The only downside would be that there aren’t a lot of readily available transportation options during the winter, so always book taxis or buses in advance.

DAY TRIP IS ENOUGH: If you are not skiing, I would recommend...
DAY TRIP IS ENOUGH: If you are not skiing, I would recommend that you take a day trip bus tour from Sapporo Station. All the sites can be seen in one bus tour; best to stay the night and other nights in Sapporo.
JR FURANO STATION (TRAIN): AVOID IF YOU HAVE LUGGAGES: Be warned: no elevator or escalator in this Station, and to reach any platform from the entrance, you need to climb up one steep flight of stairs, walk through a bridgeway, and walk down another steep flight of stairs. Very very difficult if you have large luggages, and not fit!
I would recommend avoiding this station if you have luggages. Note that there is a bus which takes you from Furano to Ashikara station or even Sapporo station, and the travel time between the train trip (with at least 2 train transfers) and the more comfortable bus trip is almost the same. If dragging luggages from train to train AND up/down stairs is an issue: take the bus!
The apartment was perfect for my family. Spacious, sparkling clean, and had everything we needed. The hosts were also kind enough to provide bedding, bath tub and toys for my 1 year old. They went out of their way to help adjust the baby cot as well. They welcomed us with open arms and gave us advice on where to go for meals. They gave us onigiri rice and Japanese cucumber home grown from their garden! Location was perfect, very walkable to the main parts of town. Would stay here again without hesitation.
For those nervous about the shared bathrooms: we never had to wait to use the shared toilets (two for men, two for women), or the shared Japanese style bath, which is kept quite hot and perfect after a day of snowboarding. In fact, we preferred a spacious, common bath to a small private bathtub/shower. I also recommend opting for breakfast, it's very good, and at the end, the host brings you a pot of fresh herbal tea. There's also a shared ski storage room, which is very useful.
Comfy beds that are great for recuperation from a busy active day in the snow. The room was very well insulated thus keeping a nice warm temperature despite the outdoor condition. Never did I see any crying windows in the morning!
A lovely selection of tourist attractions just outside the hotel for non-skiiers. The Ningle Terrace, Kan Kan Mura, Morinotokei, etc...all make the stay enjoyable and special.
This is our second time staying at this hotel. our first stay was 4 years ago when the hotel was newly open and we had a good experience. We were not disappointed when we returned this time. The staff were as friendly and welcoming as we remembered them to be, the hotel suite was clean, and our kids throughly enjoyed their stay there. We look forward to staying at Hitohana again!
Chalet Fuyuri is very close to the ski field and was the perfect base for our Furano holiday. The apartments were beautifully appointed (we had 3 out of the 5) which meant a great night's sleep. We ate breakfast and lunch at Chalet Fuyuri each day (could almost ski/board to the property) and walked to a different dinner venue each evening. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
The property was just as advertised, a friendly little hotel in a popular destination. the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and breakfast on-site was delicious. We did not try out the onsen, but it was nice to know that it was available. Parking was very convenient as well, and the neighborhood was pleasant and walkable.
the kitchen and common area is big and clean, We rent a bicycle from the host to drive around and to the city center which are most flat, a bit hard to drive uphill to the the New Prince Hotel (in 30 minutes), but you may took a bus with the bike there instead. Bus stop is around the corner and schedule is good enough.
Apartment with large living area, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. Good wifi. Apartment is comfortable and clean. It is in the skiing area of the city so I guess the area around it would be more lively in the winter season. Very useful to have access to a washing machine etc.
Hosts were very accommodating - had complimentary pick up and drop off from Furano station to our property. Also had complimentary pick up and drop off (once per day) to and from the ski resort which was really handy. Apartment was well furnished and quite nice.
Ski in ski out, and had everything there, even though it was hotel prices, it wasn’t over the top.
We caught the local bus to Furano for dinner which was a great Japanese experience. Make sure you have cash for the bus, and restaurants
The hotel belongs to the mystays group. Public baths are on the rooftop, including views. In addition, they offer three private baths for guests, free of charge. Hotel is centrally located in Furano.
Being a new hotel which opened a month ago, the facilities were perfect. The rooms were clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The spa (onsen) although small, had very nice ambience.
Location was near to the ski resort (about 2km-5min by car) and though we were not able to rent a car, the host kindly offered to pick up and bring us to the ski resort every day.
Nice hotel with onsen, private baths, views, massage chairs. Located near the Furano station and restaurants. The Superior room was a little small for a family of 4 but it’s ok.
Wonderful house with ample space and all the facilities you could need. We especially liked the tatami rooms. Short drive to Furano ski field. Loved it!
