The main square was a pleasant place to sit and watch the world go by. There are plenty of decent shops, but lacking a good independent pasticceria. You can still buy pastries from cafes and one of the many supermarkets.
You won't be stuck for a decent pizzeria as there are several. Il Grottino and Spano's do a good take away as well as eating in. You can eat well in one of the many spaghetteria.
People are mainly friendly and helpful. Driving isn't difficult.
One of the best, tastiest meals we had was the street vendor near the tower: The Sunrise Street Food. You can sit outside and enjoy the view across a bay. The food is excellent!
Rubbish needs to be taken to one of the recycling points (behind the police station).
There's a very touristy looking restaurant overlooking the Rena Bianca beach, but it sells good gelati! Don't be put off.
The Rena Bianca beach is gorgeous. The water is so clear. I will definitely be going back.
Ooh yes, the highlight for my son was seeing a wild boar in town!

Public transportation, including ferry to Corsica was a good experience.
Good variety of restaurants, shops, cafes.. however if visiting during "off season" be flexible as not all of the regular facilities are open.
Town was friendly and people offered suggestions, and directions.which we appreciated.

I didn't find there was much to see/do, some restaurants/shops were close to the hotel. For me this was a stop over to wait out the ferry that did not sail to Corsica, my actual destination, due to the cyclone.
This would not be a location I would return to, except if I was getting the ferry again..

Just amazing, true definition of friendly staff
really best in class, either from the owner Daniele
or the other staff members, recommended very
nice places in whole Sardinia, booked for us
restaurants in the town (with discounts),
they were very welcoming and nice, the place
is just amazing, clean, cozy and comfortable,
very close to the town, only 10 min drive by car
Breakfast was very delicious, pool and the
whole premises were very clean only cherry
on top would be heating the pool a little bit :)
The staff are friendly and lovely (helped with bus info etc 👌🏾😄 ) the hotel is clean and the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and clean. Nice blackout curtains. The aircon was good effective! The room had a mini safe and a mini fridge. They offer a laundry service which was super useful ! The walk to the town is about 12-15 minutes, also close to the bus stop about 7-8 mins walk. Great value for money.
Central Location, good restaurants and shops nearby, good, prompt and friendly communication with the host, comfy beds, fairly well equipped with tv, iron, hairdryer, washing machine, etc. Air con was helpful on the hotter days but not sure if it would be sufficient in very hot weather. The pool area was quiet and lots of sun loungers. The apartment served our needs and was a good, practical base for our holiday.
Position was a dream
Room smallish but ample for a couple,. Bed very comfortable, view from room breathtaking. Contemporary deco was really lovely!
Breakfast varied, fresh and ample with gluten free options, staff lovely
Great local tips for restaurants
Nice extra touches (beach towels and beachbag!) Safe. Flexible check-in (it was low season so this might have helped)
Nice town with well located La Contessa hotel- close to main town attractions (beach, towe, center) and with stunning view from the roof top. Our room was bigger then we expected, bed was comfortable and bathroom was well equiped. We liked breakfast (not only typical Italian) and spece in the garagge for our car. I will back to La Contessa with pleasure next time.
Daniela(and her team) is great host. She supervise everything that guests needs. She is also a great concierge. She will book for you all best restaurants around and in city as well as sea trips. She knows everything about Sardinia. Breakfast perfect for sweet or salty lovers. Room cleaned every day. Very cozy for those who admire quite and peace.
Incredible accommodation in a beautiful town Santa Teresa Gallura in the north of Sardinia.
A very good and pleasant owner who has prepared a welcome bottle of wine, local sweets and another goodies.
We have enjoyed the holiday very much and we will come back here, it was best vacation what we had.
Thank you A. :)
Very good location in the down town. Amazing views over the bay and Corsica. But what really stood out was the kindness of the staff and of the owners. Kind at heart, how all hosts should be like. An exceptionally warm-hearted experience. I wish there was more than this review that we could offer. Grazie mille!
The hotel location is very convenient. In the city center,
5min walk from the bus stop and the ferry.
The breakfast was great.
Paolo and the team were the best part of our stay.
They were all so nice, friendly, welcoming and attentive.
We absolutely loved our stay and we definitely recommend this hotel.
Great location walkable town, near hiking beaches, archeological sites. Large terrace when not too hot to sit outside. Quiet at night. Staff quickly called tech support to fix an issue with the tv and was very responsive to inquiries. Had an ice cube tray in the freezer!
The property is very nice, clean and the host is super nice!
Sardinia is a great island to visit and from the hotel you have amazing beaches on driving distance.
Great location to explore the east, north and west side of the island!
This is a charming family run hotel that offers the best value in town. I loved the supply of toiletries & the balcony with the apparatus to dry hand washable in the ever-present Sardinian sun!
The hotel itself is fantastic. Great location a short walk to the private beach area, and town. Room was really nice, food was excellent, and all the staff were incredibly welcoming.
A great space with very large outdoor deck. Modern and clean. Close to ferry port and a close distance to the center of town. It was perfect for a short stay for a family of four.
